DZSS Launcher: the server browser for DayZ
Search and filter servers, see ping and player count live, keep favourites, load the mods a server needs and join with one click. A separate program for DayZ players, free and without an account.
Find DayZ servers without typing addresses
The server list shows ping and player count live. Search by name, IP or map, plus four filters: last played, official, modded, own network. Keep favourites and see at a glance where people are playing. Joining is one click, you never type an IP by hand.
Everything about a server before you join
Address, perspective, map, in-game time and the full mod list are all in the server details. So you know what you are getting into beforehand, instead of finding out while connecting.
DayZ mods under control
Which mods a server asks for, which ones you already have and what is still missing: all in one place, straight from the Steam Workshop. The launcher shows version and size and fetches what is needed. And you can see what your mods belong to: which ones to the server you played on yesterday, which ones to the one before, and of which only the kept version is left.
Profiles: your in-game name, pickable per server
A profile is the name and a DayZ folder of its own: its own key bindings, its own graphics settings, its own mod configs. Meant for servers that ask for a certain name or run a whitelist.
Discord status: your friends can see the launcher is open
With Discord running, “DZSS Launcher” shows up next to your name, with its icon. Only the name and icon of the launcher are passed on: no server, no address, nothing about you. The launcher does not go online for this, it talks to the Discord on the same machine through a local interface. On by default, can be switched off in the settings.
Server time: you see the clock before you join
The list shows each server's clock, running at that server's own speed. The ring beside it is one full in-game day: the dark part is night, as wide as it actually lasts. On more than half of all servers night runs eighteen times faster than day and is over quickly; on others it drags on. You can see both at a glance.
Older mod versions: kept, and you start with them
Before Steam overwrites a mod, the launcher sets the old version aside, and it does so for every mod you have; otherwise you can no longer join a server that still asks for the old one. You can start a server with them too: if it stays on an older version, you keep playing. The choice applies to that one server only; one click takes the current version back, and kept versions can be reviewed and deleted individually.

Free, and it stays that way
The launcher costs nothing, for anyone: no account, no unlocking, no tiers. Anyone who wants to back the project anyway will find the ways on the home page; no feature depends on it.
Questions about the DZSS Launcher
Do I need the DZSS Launcher to run a DayZ server?
No. The launcher is meant for players, not for server owners. To run your own servers you need DZSS Server Studio; the launcher is a separate program alongside it.
What does the DZSS Launcher cost?
Nothing. The launcher is free, for everyone, without an account and without any unlocking. Anyone who wants to back the project can do so voluntarily; no feature depends on it.
Does the launcher replace the official DayZ launcher?
It sits alongside it. The DZSS Launcher handles searching, filtering and joining together with the right mods, and starts DayZ directly with BattlEye: Steam has to be running, but the launcher does the starting.
